A great, free resource to help kids learn and practice Chinese is available this summer — perfect for immersion students.
The website features online Chinese learning study materials for first grade through fourth grade, and is made free to the public by the Utah Chinese Dual Language Immersion STARTALK 2013 Summer website. Shout out to miparentscouncil.org for helping spread the word.

A Connecticut school will soon offer Mandarin Chinese for kids to learn if the town’s school board agrees to a recommendation from the school superintendent, The Cheshire Citizen reports.
Part of the reason for the suggestion is the recent trend for schools to start offering Chinese classes for kids.
“Assistant School Superintendent Scott Detrick said he’s seen more and more school districts offering Chinese in the state and nationwide,” the article from The Cheshire Citizen said.

Part of the reason we developed our Chinese Fridge game app for kids was because we couldn’t find many suitable, fun games for children that could effectively teach kids Chinese.
However, even though the resources are limited, we did find one guy who has some great game concepts on his website, which he built to provide Chinese lessons for his kids.
It looks like he built the website several years ago, because the design and game play appear to be quite dated, but even so, we’re very impressed and by his dedication and passion for Chinese to build these games.
